Pet Sitting Hours: Based on availability. Holiday Hours are available by advance appointment. Holidays = New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
Other Services: In addition to pet sitting, Joyful Paws provides other services, such as: retrieving the mail; watering plants; alternating lights; receiving deliveries; house checks.
Rates: Pet Sitting - During Regular (non-holiday) Hours, within 12-mile radius ** Up to 2 dogs $15 per half hour; $29.00 per hour 3 or more dogs $5 additional per visit Cats, Small Animals $15 per half hour; $29.00 per hour Pet Sitting - During Holidays $10 additional per visit Pet Transportation $20/ half hour within 12-mi radius, plus vet/groom fee Other Services with Pet Sitting Included in pet sitting rate Other Services without Pet Sitting $15.00 per half hour
** For Pet Sitting visits outside of 12-mile radius, additional $5 per visit.
Payment Terms: First-time clients agree to pay in full - cash or check - prior to start of the service period. Regular clients agree to leave payment in pre-arranged location in the home. For service of 5 days or longer, 50% of service fee is due by first day of service in pre-arranged location in the home. Checks should be made payable to Joyful Paws Pet Sitting. If any balance is left unpaid after 14 days, Joyful Paws Pet Sitting will discontinue pet sitting visits until balance is paid in full.
Returned Checks: For any client checks that are returned unpaid for any reason, client agrees to pay a $35 fee to cover the bank fees assessed to Joyful Paws Pet Sitting. This is in addition to the pet sitting service fee due from the client to Joyful Paws Pet Sitting.
Visit times: Joyful Paws Pet Sitting will visit at the requested times as closely as possible. However, times may vary if we are caring for several pets on the same day.
Pet Illness: If a pet becomes ill while under the multi-day care of Joyful Paws Pet Sitting, we will call the vet indicated on the client information sheet and, if directed by the vet, will transport the pet to the vet for care. Client will be responsible for any expenses associated with the care and transport of their pet.
Unforeseen Circumstances: In the event of unforeseen circumstances that prevent us from making a scheduled visit (i.e. road closure, auto accident, serious illness), we will call the emergency contact or trusted neighbor contact on your client information sheet. This is to ensure the uninterrupted care and welfare of your pet(s).
Confirmation Call: Joyful Paws Pet Sitting will make a confirmation call the day before scheduled multiple days of pet sitting, to verify dates of departure and return.
Return Home Call: Clients are requested to call Joyful Paws Pet Sitting upon returning home after multiple days or weeks away from home. The reason for this request is to ensure that pets are safely back in their owner's care.
Last minute Changes: It is possible that your trip plans may change at the last minute. For Early or Late Returns, client must call Joyful Paws Pet Sitting to give notice that the client return date has changed, and pet sitting services need to be discontinued or extended. Payment for any additional visits is due within 5 days of return home.
Other persons accessing your home: The Joyful Paws Pet Sitting representative will not allow anyone into client’s home unless specifically instructed by the client. Be advised that if there are other persons or service people permitted by the client to enter the home during our pet sitting service period, Joyful Paws Pet Sitting will not be responsible for any damages or problems as a result of their presence.
Vaccinations/Immunizations: Joyful Paws Pet Sitting requires that all pets have the necessary vaccinations and immunizations before service begins. We may ask to see expiration dates for rabies vaccinations. Client agrees that all licenses and vaccinations are current, as required by the State of NJ and County of Ocean.
Medications: Joyful Paws Pet Sitting will attempt to administer medications as directed. Be aware that some pets with medical problems can be a serious risk. If you have such an animal, please discuss this thoroughly prior to your service period. Also, Joyful Paws Pet Sitting will not provide service to any pet that has any form of contagious illness, as this may jeopardize the safety of other clients and their animals.
Pet waste: Joyful Paws Pet Sitting will properly dispose of all pet waste. We do request that you provide waste bags for this purpose and indicate where you would like these waste bags disposed.
Leashes: All dogs will be required to be on leash during outdoor walks.
Animal Behavior: If any pet exhibits biting or other aggressive behavior, Joyful Paws Pet Sitting reserves the right to refuse service. Also, we do not accept responsibility or liability for animal behavior that results in injury to the client’s pet. Further, if the client’s pet injures a Joyful Paws Pet Sitter, the client/owner accepts full responsibility for the cost of any medical attention required for either the Pet Sitter or the animal
Fences: Be aware that no fence system is completely secure. Joyful Paws Pet Sitting does not accept responsibility or liability for any client’s animal that escapes or become lost or injured, when instructed to leave the client’s animal in a fenced-in area. This includes electronic, wood, metal, or any other type of fence.
Other dogs: We will not permit your dogs to interact with strange dogs. If stray dogs that are off leash approach, we will do our best to keep interaction at a minimum and move away from them.
Privacy Policy: The client's personal and vacation information will be kept confidential. We recommend that you inform a trusted neighbor that Joyful Paws Pet Sitting will be caring for your pets while you are away.
Household Emergencies: We request the name and number of an emergency contact, trusted neighbor, and/or maintenance service to call for any household emergencies that may arise during your absence. This includes but is not limited to; leaking pipes or malfunctioning water heaters or heating/air units.
